Casey + Andrew’s elevated Sonoma, CA, wedding weekend.
This intimate celebration centered around creating a truly unforgettable guest experience and incorporating elegant, elevated design throughout the entire event. It began with an intentional, detail-focused welcome dinner beside the Russian River. Then, this heartfelt weekend continued into a gorgeous wedding day set amid Sonoma wine country. All in all, this beautifully designed, two-day-long celebration of human connection perfectly highlighted my favorite aspects of wedding photography.
Andrew and Casey started their wedding weekend by gathering with their closest family and friends at The Stavrand, a historic hillside estate along California’s Russian River. The welcome dinner’s design combined rustic elements with a classic lounge feel. Everyone grazed on charcuterie, savored glasses of crisp wine, and enjoyed Aperol spritzes as the bride and groom mingled with their guests.
Later, we all sat down for dinner and devoured the most delicious pizza. Finally, the night ended on a genuinely lovely note as a few of Casey and Andrew’s loved ones shared speeches, well wishes, and heartfelt words. Everything about this welcome dinner set just the right tone for all that the next day held.
On their wedding day, Andrew and Casey began the day just as they always do, together. These two love birds chose to spend the morning together, savoring all the anticipation of their upcoming union. They got ready together, which allowed me to capture some of my favorite moments as Andrew zipped Casey into her wedding dress. His face showed every emotion as his bride’s beauty took his breath away.
I cannot tell you enough how much I adored Casey’s Monique Lhuillier gown. This gown stole the show with layers of semi-sheer fabric creating a timeless silhouette and stunningly delicate three-dimensional florals accenting the bodice. Rather than overpowering the bride’s natural beauty, it accentuated all her best features and femininity. Overall, the colors and aesthetics fit perfectly with the wedding design, florals, and surrounding scenery.
We gathered beneath the most gorgeous tree when it was time for the ceremony. You can see how the natural setting inspired the floral designer Marigold. It felt as if the flower arrangements were an extension of the environment. It took true artistry to create florals that beautifully elevated the ceremony space while feeling organic and true to the setting.
Casey and Andrew’s elevated Sanoma, CA wedding ceremony was heartfelt and tearful, perfectly reflecting the couple’s authentic relationship. They exchanged vows with just the right sentimentality and shared an unforgettable romantic first kiss. And, finally, they were officially married!
During cocktail hour and dinner hour, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed beautifully arranged, flavorful dishes from Jessica Lesky Catering. The reception space was stunning, framed by a gorgeous infinity pool and views of the gardens. But the most memorable thing of all was the attention Casey and Andrew paid to their guests’ experience. They went so far as to include a personalized letter in each guest’s menu card, detailing each person’s importance to the bride and groom’s lives. I so enjoyed watching the beautiful sight of this couple’s loved ones reading the heartfelt words.
Altogether, Andrew and Casey’s elevated Sonoma, CA wedding night was one filled with kind words, polaroid photos, cheersing, incredible food, and dancing. Later in the evening, Casey changed into her party look, a vibrant red, vintage-inspired dress adorned with long, dangling beads. The newlyweds finally ended the night by dancing the night away. I truly believe this weekend will remain one of the most memorable in their entire lives.
