Gaby and Scott’s destination wedding in Antigua Guatemala was a beautiful celebration of love, culture, and diversity. Bringing together their families from Honduras and various parts of the United States, the event was a true reflection of the merging of two backgrounds into one harmonious union.
The choice of Antigua as the wedding location held significant meaning for the couple. With Gaby’s family hailing from Honduras, Antigua provided a perfect blend of accessibility for both families while offering a picturesque setting that captured the essence of Gaby’s heritage.
The day commenced with Gaby and her bridal party getting ready in a stunning suite overlooking the hotel’s ruins, setting the tone for the enchanting festivities ahead. Amidst the vibrant streets of Antigua, the bridal party’s colorful attire added an extra layer of charm to the already picturesque surroundings.
The ceremony itself was a breathtaking affair set in a courtyard adorned with ruins, symbolizing the rich history of Antigua. Incorporating elements of both Catholic and Jewish traditions, the ceremony beautifully highlighted the couple’s diverse backgrounds and the coming together of their families. The Chuppah, adorned with colorful florals, served as a poignant symbol of the home they would build together.
The ceremony itself was a sight to behold, but it was the reception that truly stole the show. As I entered the reception space at Hotel Casa Santo Domingo, I was greeted by hanging floral installations, draped fabric elegantly flowing across the ceiling, and stunning hanging lamps casting a warm glow over the entire area. The attention to detail was impeccable, with each element contributing to an atmosphere of magic and romance that I will never forget.
But it wasn’t just the aesthetics that made this reception unforgettable. Gaby and Scott had planned an evening of non-stop excitement and celebration. The night kicked off with an elegant dinner, accompanied by heartfelt speeches from their loved ones. Little did I know, the best was yet to come.
As the evening progressed, the party truly came to life. Gaby and Scott, along with their lively guests, danced the night away until the early hours of the morning – 3 am to be exact! The entertainment was unlike anything I had ever seen before. A live band kept the energy high, while life-sized bobblehead entertainers mingled with the crowd, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone they encountered. A saxophone player serenaded us with soulful melodies, adding to the ambiance of the evening. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, confetti cannons erupted, showering the dance floor in a cascade of color and joy. But perhaps the most memorable moment of all was when LED wings made an appearance, transforming the dance floor into a scene straight out of a fairytale.
As a photographer, I live for moments like these – moments of pure joy and celebration that leave a lasting impression. And let me tell you, Gaby and Scott’s wedding was a party for the ages. Being on the dance floor with them and their guests all night long was an experience I’ll cherish forever. It’s nights like these that remind me why I do what I do – to capture the magic and excitement of life’s most memorable moments. And this, my friends, was a night to remember.
