Romantic Engagement Session in San Francisco, California
When Liz inquired to have me take their romantic engagement session in San Francisco, California, I knew immediately that we were meant to be.
Liz started our showing me photos of her and Luke. She also showed me the inspiration for their photos as well. Right away, I was hooked on their energy. I knew that this would be an amazing collaboration, and I could not have been more right.
Both Liz and Luke wanted their picture locations to reflect themselves and where they came from. Liz is from Australia and Luke is from New York.
Together, we decided on San Francisco to showcase the city, and the second location was Mt. Tam, to display the beautiful golden hills.
STROLLING THROUGH THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO
We started our session strolling along an adorable little street in San Francisco called Maiden Lane. Surrounded by the designer boutiques, big windows, and restaurants – it was the perfect setting to embody the city.
Shooting in an urban setting is actually one of my favorite things. It presents a fun challenge to get creative with composition, settings, and poses. I definitely gravitate towards more editorial poses and styles in the city which can be super fun to put together!
Luke and Liz chose the perfect outfits for this session. They offered amazing movement, texture, and colors that complimented the city tones.
We concluded part one of this romantic engagement session in San Francisco, California. However, not before sipping on a dirty Martini and a chilled beer outside of Iron Horse Cocktails.
TO THE ROLLING HILLS OF MT. TAM
We then drove 45 minutes and had a quick outfit change. Being at Mt. Tam, we were in a completely different area with an equally unique vibe.
Both Liz and I expressed how it was a breath of fresh air to leave the city behind and head for the hills. This was the first shoot of the season for me where the hills were actually GOLDEN!
Let me tell you I have been waiting for this moment for so long. There is nothing quite as beautiful as the setting sun lighting up the golden rolling hills of Mt Tam. Together, we scaled a trail and chased the sunlight until we came upon the perfect spot. Liz and Luke were truly able to have their love for each other captured.
Liz + Luke brought a bottle of wine and THREE wine glasses! Thanks for the wine, guys!
Because of Liz and Luke’s chemistry, I actually gave very little instruction. It expressed itself in such a beautiful way! I did not want to control nor restrict it by giving too many instructions. Here or there I would jump in but overall, the magic is all them.
I left fully knowing these would be some of my favorite photos I had ever taken. They frolicked, sipped wine, watched the clouds roll over the city & kissed a whole bunch. I left feeling like I had two new best friends because it genuinely felt like we were just hanging out.
Liz and Luke plan on getting married in Singapore! I mean, how cool is that?! They also plan on having a reception in 2023. I cannot wait to see if our paths cross again soon!!!
